HPS Ahuja, CEO & MD of ISPRL is a seasoned engineer, having over three decades of experience in the Oil sector out of which over a decade has been in this niche field of underground storages of the Oil Industry. He started his career with ONGC in 1983 and has extensive expertise in well testing, stimulation and well completion of deep offshore exploratory wells drilled in the Bombay High oil and gas fields. While at ONGC he also steered the implementation of ERP project of SAP across the entire organization.

Shri Ahuja was involved in implementation of the Phase I strategic storage program of Govt. of India at three locations namely Vishakhapatnam, Mangalore and Padur entailing storage of crude oil in underground unlined rock caverns.
He has also been involved in preparation of the DFR for Phase II storage program which will entail two new underground storage technologies viz. solution mined salt cavern and in ground concrete tanks. He was instrumental in signing two key deals with UAE government for storage of crude in the storages. A Mechanical Engineer by academics from Bombay University, he also holds a Diploma in Management studies from Bombay University, as well.

National Coordinator, India Ban Asbestos Network (iBAN)

Pooja is an Environmentalist by profession with a degree in Environmental Sciences. She gained first-hand experience in community development while working with various communities across the country. Currently she is the coordinating for India Ban Asbestos Network (iBAN), a coalition of labor organizations, public health groups, environmental groups, academicians, scientific experts, concerned citizens, victims and their families. The main goal of the network is to ban asbestos in India and to bring justice to those who are suffering due to the dreaded fibre.

Dr. Sarin also worked as WHO National Consultant for over three years and was instrumental in framing and pilot testing of the Revised National TB Control Programme at the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health.   He has also been deputed as a Temporary Advisor of WHO from time to time on various aspects of Tuberculosis Programme and its Control in the South-East Asian Region.  He is SAARC Trainer for MDR-TB and DOTS Plus. He is Member of Global Guidelines Development Group for New TB Drugs.

 He is the Former Chairman of the Regional Green Light Committee (MDR TB Advisory Group) for South East Asia Region (2012-2015) and continues to be a Member of the rGLC SEAR and Global Drug Resistant Initiative. 
He has been a consistent Member of International Joint Monitoring Missions for RNTCP and a National RNTCP Appraiser for States.  He is on the National DOTS-Plus Committee for MDR-TB, National Committee for Airborne Infection Control, National Committee for Operational Research, National Committee for Pediatric Guidelines and National Drug Monitoring Committee. He is one of the nodal persons responsible for initiating private sector involvement in RNTCP in co-ordination with Delhi Medical Association and organized workshop for drafting National Policy in this regard.  He is also a National Facilitator for training the trainers in MDR TB.

Mr. Soumya Bhattacharya is currently working as a Consultant (Programme Management) with the United nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Soumya possess over a decade long experience of working with Governments such as Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt of India, Department of Environment, Govt of NCT of Delhi, under deputation from bilateral and multilateral agencies like United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on various of climate change and international negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change, low carbon sustainable development strategies, India’s Nationally Determined Contributions, State Action Plans on Climate Change, matters related to Green Climate Fund, Projects for grant of Host Country Approval under Clean Development Mechanisms. 
He has been a member of the High Level Inter-Ministerial Indian Delegation on climate change in over 16 UNFCCC negotiating meetings, including the Conference of the Parties, and has been instrumental in negotiating the landmark ‘Paris Agreement’ on Climate Change. During his assignment he has worked with high level political leaders, senior government officials and bureaucrats of various Indian Ministries, UN Special envoys and country diplomats, Civil Society Organizations and NGOs on climate change.

As a part of the UNDP Energy Environment team has been actively involved with various projects on climate change and their coordination with the various states and Union Territories of India. He has under his credit various articles and reports published by Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate change. His panel discussions on climate change and related issues are aired on the Lok Sabha Television. He is Masters of Science (Environmental Management) from New Delhi and a graduate in Zoology (Life Sciences) from University of Delhi. He holds a Diploma in Management (DIM) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

Prof SK Chhabra is Head, Department of Pulmonary, Sleep and Critical Care Medicine at Primus Superspeciality Hospital New Delhi. He was earlier Director, Professor in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, Delhi and former Head of Department of Pulmonary Medicine, University of Delhi. He obtained his graduation (MBBS) from Maulana Azad Medical College (1977 batch) and obtained MD in Pulmonary Medicine from the Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute in 1986.

A clinician and teacher par excellence, Dr Chhabra has been active in several areas of research, both basic and applied, in the discipline of Pulmonary Medicine and allied sciences. He has developed keen research interest in lung physiology, critical care medicine, epidemiology and biochemistry and clinical pulmonary medicine. He has carried out more than a dozen research projects for Indian scientific bodies including ICMR, DST and CSIR. His interests include aspects of asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary function and health effects of air pollution. Among his pioneering works have been studies on epidemiology of asthma and adverse effects of air pollution. He has developed an experimental model of asthma in guinea pigs and explored the phenomenon of oxidative stress in asthma and COPD. He has explored the basic mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of bronchial hyperreactivity and airway inflammation in asthma. He has developed regression equations for spirometry norms in children and for spirometry, lung volumes and diffusion capacity in adults in four metropolitan cities of India, the only scientist from India to accomplish this feat. His work has contributed to the current knowledge on the linkage between COPD and cardiovascular disease.

He was awarded the Von Pirquet prize of the Indian College of Asthma, Allergy and Applied Immunology, NAPCON-Dr Reddy Oration of the National College of Chest Physicians, DN Shivpuri Oration of the Indian College of Asthma, Allergy and Applied Immunology and Paramesh Oration for Environment of the Indian Academy of Allergy. He was also awarded the Fellowship of the American College of Chest Physicians, National College of Chest Physicians and the Indian College of Asthma, Allergy and Applied Immunology and is on selection panel for scientists of Defense Research and Development Organization. He has been an adviser to the Center for Science and Environment and The Energy Research Institute. He has supervised research work of more than 25 MDs (Pulmonary Medicine) and been a co-supervisor for PhD students. He has been and continues to be an examiner for postgraduates in Pulmonary Medicine.

He has delivered more than 150 guest lectures and has over 140 publications in prestigious indexed international and national journals. He has authored more than twenty book chapters.He is a reviewer for several national and international journals and is the Editor of Indian Journal of Chest Diseases and Allied Sciences, Associate editor of Journal of the Indian Journal of Asthma, Allergy and Applied Immunology and sectional editor of Lung India. He is a member of several committees of the departments of Government of India on various Health issues.

Manjeet Singh Saluja, National Professional Officer (Environment and Public Health), WHO Country Office for India

Manjeet has been working in the area of Environment and development since last 15 years. He currently works with WHO country office in India on the issues of Air pollution, Climate Change, Water and Sanitation and its effect of Public Health. He has previously worked as a Technical Advisor for the Indo German Environment Partnership programme of GIZ.He has also worked on issues of decentralization, livelihoods and Environment with the United Nations and International and National NGOs in various states of India. He has his Masters in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Forest Management(IIFM), Bhopal and a Masters in Environmental Sciences.
