Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is my distinct honour, as Conference Chair, to invite you to the 5th International Conference on Occupational and Environmental Health (ICOEH 2026), to be held in Thimphu, Kingdom of Bhutan, from 27–29 April 2026.
At a time when the world of work is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by technological change, evolving industries, and emerging risks; the protection of workers’ safety and health has never been more critical. Ensuring safe and healthy workplaces is not only a legal obligation, but a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, decent work, and social justice.
Bhutan is privileged to host this important international gathering for the first time. The conference is jointly organised by the Department of Labour, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment, Royal Government of Bhutan, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Consultancy Services (OHS-MCS), New Delhi, India, bringing together global expertise and regional leadership in occupational and environmental health.
The theme of ICOEH 2026, “Advancing Occupational Safety and Health for Sustainable and Decent Work through Global Collaboration,” reflects a shared global responsibility. No nation or institution can address workplace safety challenges in isolation. Strong partnerships, knowledge exchange, and collective action are essential to building safer, healthier, and more resilient workplaces.
This conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, researchers, occupational health professionals, and worker representatives from around the world. Through plenary discussions, technical sessions, and professional exchange, ICOEH 2026 will provide a platform to share knowledge, examine emerging risks, and strengthen global cooperation in occupational safety and health.
Your participation is vital. The insights, experience, and commitment of the international community will play an important role in shaping practical solutions and advancing the global agenda for safer and healthier workplaces.
Beyond the conference, we invite our international experts and practitioners to experience the unique spirit of Bhutan—its rich culture, pristine environment, and the philosophy of Gross National Happiness, which places human well-being and sustainable development at the centre of national progress.
We look forward to welcoming you to Thimphu in April 2026 for a meaningful and impactful gathering.
Tashi Delek.
