Prof. Jayanta K. Das took over as Director, National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, on February 24, 2012. He is an expert in the field of Public Health and Health Management. His area of further specialty is Hospital Administration. Prof. Das obtained his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, and M.D. (CHA) from National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, University of Delhi, Delhi. Besides, he has undergone a course on Hospital Administration in Connecticut, USA.
As a coordinator, he has conducted a large number of Training Courses, Workshops and Seminars in the Institute as well as outside. He is well recognized for his consultancy and advisory services to various State Governments, National Level Committees; including Planning Commission, Medical Council of India, Government of Delhi, etc. He has also been associated with Academy of Hospital Administration, Indian Hospital Association, Indian Public Health Association, Indian Medical Association, Association of Hospital Engineering Services, etc. He has been serving as an external examiner for All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi; DNB; Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar; Indira Gandhi National Open University; etc.
